Just thought I’d throw a link on here for my recently designed portfoilo site, williamdady.com. I’ve also written a blog post better explaining the development process (for anyone who might be interested).

I just received a FlashDen message from a user asking a question about one of my files. However, upon clicking on the ‘verify that this user is a customer of yours’ link in the email I get a message on the users profile saying ‘This user has never purchased any of your files.’

What could be the reason for this? I’m a little paranoid that this person may have stolen this file, maybe from another customers site? Or is it just a glitch with FlashDen? Naturally I’m not interested in wasting my time providing support for leeched files.

Lately I have been thinking of switching IDE ’s from FlashDevelop to Flex Builder 3. I really love FlashDevelop however I think a move to an Eclipse based IDE is a smart move considering the imminent release of Flash Builder (sometime next year). I consider myself to be a professional Flash Platform developer so FB seems the logical choice for the long term.

I guess my question is is if I develop pure actionscript projects in Flex Builder 3 will this still be considered a “Flex project” if uploaded to FlashDen? Also do you think this would turn away potential buyers?

Since I’m still relatively new to FlashDen (I’ve uploaded 2 thus far) I was wondering what people’s experiences are with a file’s lifespan.

By that I mean do you usually see a file’s sales drop over time and If so how drastically? As new files get added your file gets pushed further and further down the page and eventually onto subsequent pages. Do you find that once your file gets pushed to page 2 sales slow right down (if not stop altogether)?

I’m relatively happy with the sales I’ve had so far and I guess I’m just asking to see if it’s worth continuing contributing here.

This just an educated guess on how I assume it would work. I don’t see why this would be any different for an AS2 or AS3 file.

Should really be a case of sticking the following at the top of your XML file.

I have a slideshow which might be what you are after. It loads images at runtime and each image only downloads as it is displayed. Because of this the actual Flash file is a small 26KB.

Images are loaded via an XML file (simple text file listing each image).

Another way to look at it is on a per-site basis. You can use any or all of the backgrounds on mysite1.com but you can’t use any on mysite2.com. This is assuming mysite1.com is a single ‘application’.

Having something like mysite1.com/mygardeningblog and mysite1.com/mycarblog would require a separate license for each as each is clearly a separate site (application).

Someone correct me if this is wrong.

I’m not necessarily referring to just scaling up, I’m asking for a non-uniform scale like halving a MovieClip’s width where the aspect ratio is changed from it’s original dimensions. Was just wondering if anyone knew of any links where this has been tested.

Yes I should have been clear that TweenLite requires a license for use in for-profit commercial applications. The project I’m using it in at the moment is a personal folio site so I didn’t need to purchase a license.
