Yeah, unfortunately I’m looking for something that uses thumbnails per day with popup info. Here’s the current implementation of Pablos’ version: http://www.kremlin-belfast.com/kremlin/whatson/month.html

I don’t need all this user side entry or any fancy data input methods, as it is I just load up the folder with thumbnails and enter the events into an XML file.

This post is maybe in the wrong place, as I’m not asking anyone to build this, I just wondered if anyone had came across something similar. I’m not that advanced, I’m a graphic designer, not a coder, so I bluff my way by making things look good, but theres usually very little code beneath! lol

I understand. So you are looking for an off the shelf solution, built with js, that can be installed on your server.

Don’t know something like that. Usually it’s in the form of an embeddable widget, or WP plugin (such as this one http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/events-calendar/screenshots/).

Sorry I cannot help with more info.

I’ve been using PabloKreative’s excellent XML Month Calendar http://activeden.net/item/xml-month-calendar/30103 for a couple of years now, but we want to start stripping flash from our site for mobile devices. I’ve been unable to find a html5 or jquery alternative over at CodeCanyon, does anyone know of an alternative I’ve missed?

We’re working on a tool that allows you to customize widgets built with jQuery and HTML5. How would you like the calendar to look like, can you provide more info by email?

A snapshoot of what we’re doing is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5uVGbTsqU4

The world as we know it in our mind will end not necessarily the physical world, it’s the choice we make in our minds which will decide our fate. But we will come to a crossroad and question everything that we held value to before and what we believed as real, and will need to separate ourselves from the illusion that we have been living in for a very long time. It really is going to question everything we know about the world, and ourselves. If you take away everything you have, what do you have left? “Know thyself” – as one famous Greek philosopher once said. As the Hopi elder Native American said, the world is dying from within, and a great cleansing and rebirth will take place. I see this not as the end, but the beginning – the next phase in human collective consciousness evolution.

Yes, had customers complaining that components that worked for years, stopped working now. I did: nothing.

Few days later, the player was updated probably in Chrome, and the components started working again.

Reached the 9 GB limit on my account already. :(

Use it in combination with Google Drive, but I have to clean them both from time to time, to save space.

why should we work fulltime. when we can make more money contracting? i have been doing it for over 3years now and i will never go back! :)

There are so many reasons. Maybe at some point in your life you’ll want to be part of something bigger, something that can be built by a team only.

Thanks guys. We don’t even get as far as discussing about payment, since they are already hired or something. Planning to open offices in other cities as well. :)

Has anyone tried to hire developers fulltime this year? It is soooo difficult to find available devs, that are skilled enough to start working. Even with amazing offers that is.

In the city where we have one of our offices, it used to be easier to find relatively good people to hire. Now, I made a simple list with the companies that hire in the tens or hundreds, and it’s not even complete: Microsoft, Endava, Embarcadero, Continental, BitDefender, Amazon, Pentalog, RomSoft, Comodo, The Red Point, Softvision, Synygy, Mind Software, grapefruit, code40, OSF GLOBAL SERVICES , Eye Partner, Ocenture, Webfusion, Neogen, Siemens Automotive, Lead Soft.. the list can go on.

How can small startups compete with such guys? There’s too much demand, too little people to choose from. Doesn’t it happen in your countries as well?

Actually I was just looking into this. I’ve been having some serious problems with my data lately. And now, after I got a new external HDD , the iMac (latest model, highest configuration) decided to make problems http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6fWgLa8jeA&feature=plcp.

I RECOMMEND THIS :

http://www.synology.com/products/product.php?product_name=DS413j&lang=uk#p_submenu

SYNOLOGY DS413j is the way to go. ;)

This NAS was just released days ago, very competitive pricing, and from my research – in the past two months – I highly recommend it. I was undecided if I should go with a Time Capsule instead, but unless they release a major update – holding up to 16GB of data that can be set in RAID 5 , I don’t see any chance of buying one. That, or Apple breaking the way 3rd party NAS hardware works! :)

It’s the best out there it seems.
