Hi, I’ve got a request!
A print/save button, but a slightly more specific one!
Basically, I would like to be able to simply drag a shape out on the stage over an area (square/rectanglular is fine) and then simply press a button for that area to be printed out or for it to be saved to file. Everything outside of that area is ignored.
This would allow me to have a print button on flash work that I can make sure only prints within the bounds of the specified area. For example, on one page I may have a large area of text with images, but on another only a small area with no images. With this script I would only have to change the size of the clip to make sure that only the text was printed rather than tailor a new bit of script for each instance.
Cheers
Bit samey… Try injecting some more colour into it. Just looks very plain right now.
And to help:
HTML :
<h1 id="logo">
<a href="index.php">FlashDen - Download Stock Flash, Audio, Video and Pixel Fonts</a>
</h1>
CSS :
h1#logo a{
display: block;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
left: 0;
width: 164px;
height: 54px;
text-indent: -5000px; /*hides text*/
}
put the HTML after the header div and before the navigation ul.
I wouldn’t normally use absolute position for such an element but I noticed that the navigation did so I presume there is a reason.
I’m so used to clicking the logo on all the sites I visit and being able to return to the homepage. Flashden must be one of very few which I can’t.
Also, for SEO , having an H1 tag and your site name would help huge amounts in Google. I’m surprised it’s been left out!
Yea, they have. When the site was first getting going I seem to remember stuff being given away for various reasons.
And yea, I’m better at animation and drawing than all this code nonsense
I think the top bit is ok, but after you get to the HOBOCTN section the content is very very dull. Try adding some varying backgrounds/colours and definately add some images. Even if it’s just some icons. It’s not in a language I can read, but a well laid out and designed site would allow me to get the idea on what the content contains without reading it. Remember, the concentration span of people browsing the internet is an average of 3 seconds. If they don’t see images or something interesting they wont keep reading. (unless they have come to the site for a specific reason – ie a blog)
Could do it both ways I suppose. The animators get to animate and the sound people get to do sound. The actionscript people had their fun with the template competition.
Flashden should choose a song or sound clip, 30 seconds long or something and then we do an animation to the music/sound. Not every competition needs to be based around churning out files.
Can we have an animation based competition please?
I’ve got three accounts for various different clients I work for.
