I vote Bobocel!

How immature of me!

Although you seem to be doing this for the wrong kind of reason, it would be quite cool to have flash-off’s.

A lot of forums have photoshop contest threads, it would make sense for this forum to have a flash related version. Kirupas forums do it I seem to remember.

You would have to do it using javascript. I used it once to open up a lightbox from within flash. Try googling for that.

Actually… Google has a bit of a reputation. On the surface they are ace to work for, but there is a whole other side that if you are not one of the ones making Google maps look even prettier it’s actually a bad place to work. And to get into the good place, you have to be damn near exceptional.

Never insulted anyone?

“For the record I have never insulted a Fd user, ever. Get your facts straight.”

Denxian, you said to flashjunkie:

“You have the potential to be a decent coder. Why do you insist on revealing your ignorance in a public forum? Simply amazing.”

To me, that remark is so unbelievably up your own arse that I imagine your stomach is currently busy trying to digest your oversized skull. I don’t know if you are a good coder or not, nor do I really care to be honest, but I think that what you wrote is downright insulting especially seeing as his post has absolutely no relevance to him being what you call a “decent coder”.

If I was to guess, I think you are currently suffering from what is known as Internet Cojones. It is quite common. It makes a normally reclusive and shy person act like a little shit on the internet just because they know they wont ever run into the people they are crapping all over in real life.

Either that or are genuinely just a complete dick wad.

I’m at work right now. Do you have an MSN address that I could catch you on tonight. At about 6?

Hi people

I’m in need of a code monkey :p

I have a client who has asked me to do some flash work. All stuff I could – given time – do myself, but due to unforeseen circumstances I no longer have the time to do the work. No worries though, because the work that would take me 2 days to do, will probably only take someone with xml and AS knowledge about 20 minutes.

The work is basically a case of customising 2 files on this site and creating an XML driven menu.

I’ve already created all the assets (animations, images, styles etc.) for everything, so all your job would be is to piece everything together with code.

Everything needs to be done for this Friday, so not too much rush.

If you were in roughly the same time zone as me (UK) it would help.

Send me an email: willblackmore@gmail.com and I’ll give you some more details so that you could put some prices together.

@ Onza: To me, selling it is of no real concern at the moment. I would rather make a brilliant platform engine and then think about selling it afterwards.

@AlexH: Unfortunately that engine doesn’t quite do what I need it to do. It looks like it only deals with blocks, I would like the engine to work with curves.

Hi everybody!

Is anyone here interested in making a platform game engine. I’d like to use a full on physics based engine. I’ve got good theories on how something like that would work, but I’m no actionscripter so I can’t put those theories into practice. I can do all the artwork and animation involved though, and I’m good at it.

There are several AS3 engines out there and I’m sure one of them would fit the bill:

http://www.cove.org/ape/ http://www.fisixengine.com/ http://box2dflash.sourceforge.net/

We could sell it on the site (minus the physics engine obviously), but mainly I just want to make a really good flash game using a solid and smooth looking engine that once created will enable the user to simply draw his level and then play. (well… as much as possible. Think how the Cry Engine Editor is to PC gaming.)

If you think you can make a good physics engine without using one of those open source alternatives it might even be possible to sell the whole lot as a package and make a bit of our time back.

If you’re interested get in touch: mac dot tastic at gmail dot com

Cheers

Will
