The day of the month payments are processed doesn’t really matter since you’ll still have the exact same amount of time between monthly payouts. It also isn’t 35 days between payments because you received your prior month’s payment in your bank account on the same day (or very close to it), so it’s still only a normal month’s time. Here’s a couple tips that might help your finances if you’re having troubles.
1) Get the Paypal debit card. You can use it to get money from your Paypal account via ATMs or to pay bills by card, etc. Then you don’t have to wait for money to be transferred to your bank account.
2) Leave enough money in your account to cover next month’s bills, that way you aren’t waiting to get paid before you pay your bills and in turn they aren’t late.
3) As freelancers, it’s generally a good idea to have, at the very least, two months of backup money in savings. That way if anything goes wrong and you can’t get paid for a couple months, you can still pay bills and hold out until your payments go through.
The nice thing about ThemeForest is that payments are pretty much as reliable as if you were working a regular job. However, you’re still a freelancer so payments from ThemeForest should be treated as if it were from a regular client (especially since Paypal is the middle man). This is so you can always stay financially protected.
Hope this helps guys.![]()
Great tips! Envato has been very good about payments, we never worry about getting our money! Keep up the good work guys.
Yeah I think everyone is getting pretty excited about WP 3 .0. We are really looking forward to the new menu management tool especially since Wordpress is now just as much of a CMS as it is a blogging tool.
Congrats DD!
Awesome!
Count us in!
It may depend slightly on where it was (+1 for Minneapolis or Chicago :P), but I would almost guarantee we’d be there regardless of where it is going to be at. I think this is such a great idea!
We just wanted to say thank you @Collis for your transparency on this matter, and trust that you have handled everything in the best possible manner.
Best Regards,
