I’ve looked into this and contacted the team to get it reviewed. Apologies for the wait, it’s sometimes part of training new reviewers and they all want to make sure they’re making the correct decision so they verify it with various other people.

Apologies for being a bit late to this thread. I’ve carefully caught up on the situation and everyone’s posts here.

Official Answer: The Envato WordPress Toolkit Library is not currently required. This was a fault in communication and I apologize for the confusion.

1. Communications with authors on changing submission requirements: Improved communications with our community has been a big focus over the last year and has continued to improve. That said, the communications between the Review team, reviewers and authors needs significant improvements as well. We’re working hard towards this.
2. Review inquiry response time and channels: Sometimes, as noted earlier in this thread, responses from managers or other decision makers isn’t possible around the clock. That said, whenever my phone rings, urgent emails or Skype chats come through, etc. I do my best to respond quickly regardless of time or day. However, it’s unrealistic to follow more than a few channels of communications for urgent issues so I focus on a few (phone, text, email, Skype). This brings us to the next point…
3. Support inquiries and review documentation: Assuming review changes are communicated well and in advance, primary inquiries will be regarding submission requirements and the review process. The support team will be able to field most of these questions followed by the review team (but remember, reviewers are not support specialists so their primary objective is not support inquiries but submission inspections).

   That brings us to review documentation… This is happening. It’s been a slow moving project for various reasons but a few of the big ones being the difficulty of rapidly scaling up the Review team, establishing new tools and processes, and generally sorting out strategies around communications and documentation. There will be documented submission requirements and guidelines, pricing structures, review team information, etc.

4. Updates to submission requirements: While we certainly want to give advance notice regarding big submission requirements changes, best practices are always evolving and should always be followed. That means will will always need to continuously make small tweaks and updates to reviewing and submission requirements, of which a healthy portion won’t deserve big announcements. That said, I do believe we need a better channel to clearly communicate these things, which I have discussed and will continue discussing with the team.

The item you’re referring to experienced an exception and is in holding with the devs to be fixed. I will try to follow up with them on this today.

The logos category is one with the longest wait times at the moment.

Logos or vectors don’t necessarily “clog” up the review queue(s), though I won’t be able to fully explain why at the moment (it would take a bit of time). An example of this is that print items are reviewed in less time than vectors.

In regards to exposure, I’m not able to comment as it’s not my area of responsibility. It’s also a reoccurring concern / question that we’re aware of but I don’t have any information on when changes to this area will be made.

If you do the Math from december to now ITS kinda IMPOSSIBLE they will catch up even if they get more people, or reject alot of files Still it will be hard for them to catch up. the review manager knows this . but he will not says this lol .

We will catch up and I’ve already given updates that it will take some time and the reasons why. We are making steady progress.

This, and similar ideas, have been discussed but are not of interest at this point in time.

So glad that these havent been taken into consideration, as many Authors become or grow into good designers and artists because of this platform and scope which would have been sad if only a certain level of skill was required here.

Quick update regarding staffing and the queues.

1) We are still hiring, though we’ve already hired several new reviewers. In fact, I hired another new reviewer just this morning! They are in training, which takes a bit of time, and will be getting up to speed quickly. Even though we’ve hired several new reviewers, we’re still understaffed because all our awesome authors are submitting so many new items in all the various categories. But this is a good thing and we’re continuing our hiring and will get ahead of the curve!

2) Due to time required for training and hiring, some of the queues have fallen even farther behind, but hang in there as it will be getting better soon.

Thanks so much for your patience everyone. We’ll be working on many new implementations to prevent this in the future, but also bear in mind it is sometimes the nature of markets such as these during rapid growth. As an author that may sound scary, but it translates to more items, a better library and ultimately more sales.

I’m monitoring this thread and will continue posting updates as things progress and I have time to jump in (like right now before my doctor appointment).

18 Days now but the little indicator is near the end….. (as it was 6 days ago)....

Logos, icons and vectors are the categories with the longest wait times, and the ones we’re working hardest at speeding up.
