I use a real guitar and fake amps. Guitar Rig is a beautiful thing. Dragging all the real stuff around is a pain in the back. I think resampled and triggered guitars sound better in electronic compositions though. In more traditional tunes they stand out like a sore thumb. I’m sure someone has tricked me in the past though.
External MIDI!!
Komplete is the base of anything virtual I do. Guitar Rig, Studio drummer…. Komplete with a DAW like Logic is mind blowing. I’m not sure if I’ll ever discover all the goodies in there. Killer app!
@candeed: I like that idea!
I’m wondering when ChromeOS will mature to be a third viable option? There used to be more… Amiga… BeOS …. Linux is viable now also. I say work on your favorite canvas and long live them all!
I always come back to my Macbook Pro. I’ve had them since the G4 when it was still the powerbook and an iBook G3 before that. Once you get in a good multi track environment it doesn’t really matter what OS your on as long as it runs well. They both seem to me to have that.
+1
The ratings system as it stands is just visual noise, or worse a pointless deterrent to a buyer even bothering to preview a track. For the life of me I cannot understand why anyone would listen to, and then buy a track only to decide it wasn’t good. Seems like a buyers remorse meter to me.
I don’t even pay attention to the ratings. I’d love to see them gone so buyers do not either.
I’d like to see another OS pop up at some point. Right now the competition is quite nice now with Win7 and OS X being pretty darn good as of late.
Like Gareth said though “The more options the consumer has, the better.” I hope neither wins and more enter the space. Maybe Amiga can make a comeback?
Sorry Zebra, but their is no “co” in there. That is your track note for note. Nice tune by the way.
Maybe if you called they would make concessions. That main composer guy would have a little explaining to do as a result…. sucks to be him.
You guys have quite a portfolio TortoiseTree! Cool.
Sky, you’ve been on the Jungle for a little over half a year if I read correctly?
You’re doing fine!
Great music so keep it up. Would be a shame to loose your stuff.

But I think we have gotten to the point where if something ISN ’T compressed, it sounds unprofessional to people.
Yeah, people like their music squeezed tightly into a box so to speak. A box with very sharp edges and razor like precision. At least it seems that way.
