That would be cool. Buy and instrument at a time here and there. I could use a nice tight upright bass sound TheBusyBrain, one that I could use to make some rockabilly stuff with. Build it and I’ll buy it.
Rock on!
One more thing Bushido: If you use something of mine and you have the time, I would love to know about it so I can link back to your file. I would welcome the excuse to blog about it. Plus it would be cool to see my track being used for something. I wouldn’t consider anything from a fellow envato author spam or useless. =) You guys have been great.
Thumbs up! Me three.
I’m in. That’s if any of it is good enough.
@DLK:
Ahhh…so it goes back to what I said. I’m a n00b.
One more thing. I have no disrespect whatsoever for the SFX guys. I’m in radio and I used the hell out of them but I always used music beds and I always spent more time trying to find a bed whereas the SFX was categorized with a book referencing a cd. I pulled it out and dubbed it in. That was it.
Peace =)
Yeah I agree there’s no need to have a popular section on AJ. I’d be curious to know how a file is judged popular. I have 2 files that sold 3 and 1 that sold 2, yet in the popular section is half filled with 2 sellers. Also the files have a random combination of votes or no votes. I’m a n00b with only 19 files and have only been here a few months so that may have something to do with it. I’m not complaining, I’m making sales and that’s pretty damn cool in my book.
My big idea for the front page of Aj would be this:
Every time I put a new track in one of the SFX guys drops 15 in and knocks me off. Just like what’s happening on ThemeForest. I’m striving to keep a fresh file sand bagged just for that purpose. =) What I believe would not work for TF would for AJ. Make 2 columns for SFX and the rest for songs. When people look for music they probably don’t have an exact idea what they want, but let’s face it: a dog barking is a dog barking. That’s easy enough. What people usually don’t know is the exact song they want.
What I want is to have “me” exposed on the front page. That way if they’re not looking for that particular track they might dig the quality and decide to go search through my portfolio. That’s my goal. Exposure. If I had one file on the front page and it didn’t ever sell a copy, but it turned folks onto my portfolio that would be fine by me. Also, it would be nice to throw a vote for this author in the purchase process if it isn’t in there. I have no votes. =(
Thanks for the update and good luck.
This widget is cool. One thing: it says I had 34 sales for June. I wish. =) The listing has June, July, then June again with the 34 sales. Maybe since I’ve only been on for a few months it’s doing some fuzzy math? When I change it to earnings it reveals a clue: it lists totals for june “space” july: total.
Looks nice. I hope I’m being constructive and giving thanks BTW . Cool widget. I can grab my screen if that helps.
PS. Can someone give me a vote? I think the way the popular script is set up in Envato you have to have votes to make it. I have a song that’s been purchased 3 times and I’m nowhere to be found in popular. Yet, there’s tons of songs purchased twice showing up.
Thanks!
