Great discussion guys. I’ve really enjoyed it thus far.
Thanks for making me aware of some rules I wasn’t previously aware of. Now I can break them. ... breaking rules in composition/mixing is a favorite past-time for me, though it doesn’t always workout as expected.
Yupper, it’s on my list of next action items for AJ.
NICE ! Thanks guys… I’ve been “out of the proverbial Jungle loop” lately. Thanks for helping me back in.
Congratulation thesecession! Great portfolio!
Hey guys… where’s the official announcement for that? Or am I just getting hooked by a joke? That happens a lot to me.
Hello vaynah … amazing video! I might join the fun this weekend and sync some music to this one.
Again, great job on that vid and great suggestions from the Jungle!
I moved this thread over to “Item Requests” since that’s what it is.
Whether we like it or not Apple said no to Flash on the iPad and people still are buying them like crazy, so it looks like they’re dragging some developers into HTML5 kicking and screaming.
That’s a big ME TOO from me as well.
I agree with Tim on the quality thing and jhunger’s comments about being professional. I am still learning and need to do some updates to my portfolio, but I think it worth mentioning a few things I try to stay focused on.
1) Upload the best quality you are capable of at this time. And as Jon Acuff mentions in his book “Quitter” ... 90% perfect and shared with the world changes lives, but 100% perfect and stuck in your head does nothing. So I need to remember that at some point I need to just “put it out there” even though I might not be 100% satisfied with it.
2) Work hard to continue to increase your quality. I am a member of Envato’s audio tuts site and have taken classes and gotten certifications for software I use as I have been able to.
3) Remember that words are powerful. So, if I am tempted to post something or email something negative that I am not responding in the heat of the moment and have really considered everything.
4) Just be myself.
I hope that helps and I’ll check out your portfolio later when I’m not on an iOS device without Flash support.
A little late, but black looks good on you! Great job Gareth!
unseenbattle saidSorry, John, this will not be possible to begin with. We will revisit and review this question at a later date however. Thanks for understanding.
Hey Scott, I had a question (if it has already been asked forgive me).
I know the rules about deleting tracks from AJ and not being able to upload them again, but with this new licensing model will we be able to delete some tracks from our profile and re-upload under the TRAX section (or maybe even just “transfer them”) to this new TRAX licensing model?
Reason I ask is because I think there are a lot of songs currently on AJ that would do better under the TRAX “just listening” model. I know there are several tracks out there that I would purchase personally just to listen to.
Some further ‘food for thought’ for later consideration…
Maybe only tracks that have been in place on AJ for a certain period of time and have 0 sales would become eligible for this “transfer” to TRAX . Just a thought.
Thanks for all the hard work Scott. It is appreciated. John
