wooow nice, how did you managed this?Would like to know that
Not telling
That said, it’s really about linking from places where people don’t mind spending a bit of money. For instance, I made the mistake at one point linking from a free psd site… ground 500 clickthroughs, but not a single conversion. Why? Well I’m showing the item to a target group that doesn’t want to spend money. It’s, in my opinion, way more about finding the right people to show files to, than just showing files to a lot of people.
so you highly suggest spending a small amount of money, and target people who’re willing to purchase…which doesn’t sound so bad…but if you could tell us where
..it’d be nice.

Where I advertise doesn’t take well to competition I’m afraid, so I’d be shooting myself in the leg if I shared
I might add that most of my advertisement is completely free, and I’ve actually had very poor results from paid advertisement, though I know others have completely different results.
But really, the important thing, is finding a group of people who are professionals, and don’t mind spending a little bit of money for good product. Advertising a product that costs money, to a group of 17 year olds with no job who just really like Photoshop, might get you a bunch of clickthroughs, but hardly any conversions.
Congrats! Now, you only need 4,500 to catch up to me

Nice numbers there!
It seems to me that ThemeForest authors are the most viable to get high referral numbers. You can advertise your own products better (due to the much higher price, you can pay more for advertisement and / or accept lower conversion ratio), which in turn leads to more referrals. I tried some BSA for my own products, but the conversion is just too low to make a profit, due to the low price of my products
I have spent a total of $0 on marketing as well as I’ve only been an author since September 2011 – in fact, it’s the other way around…As an affiliate I have a higher chance of making more author sales. I actually learned WP/web design due to the fact that I was already making a significant amount of referrals and wanted to expand.
Gotta agree with you 17 year olds who like photoshop don’t have high chance of spending money. But rather find similar ones for free or try to make one similar. I have couple of new ways in mind, I shall put them to test and see how that goes.
