so you can read email from your “own hosting with pop/smtp” while off-line? how’d you accomplish that?
? Not sure I follow. I open my laptop, open Thunderbird and read any email i ever received in the past. All off-line.

I think you mean that you are not in the cloud. You are using an e-mail account provided by your ISP I assume?

You can reroute gmail to deliver mail to your program like thunderbird…then you can read anything off line. In fact “your smtp/pop3 hosting” is actually an online mailbox wherever your ISP is located which is downloading mail to your computer.
