Just a heads up – if you have EWQL Pianos make sure that you go to the East West website and install all the latest library updates. I forgot/neglected to do this, but the EWQL Pianos update (there have been 9 small updates since it came out) made it sound so much better.

All of my complaints about the velocity curve/response/dynamic range have pretty much been solved with that update and its definitely worth getting if you don’t have it installed yet.

Oh? I’ve been ignoring a lot of EWQL updates, thought they were pointless! About how long did it take for you to finish the update?

And thanks Bandesnaci, I shall definitely check it out!

They are really small files. I think it took me a minute or so to download the EWQL Pianos 1.0.9 patch and just a few minutes for it to finish updating.

I can definitely tell you that it wasn’t a pointless update, it made every one of the pianos a lot more natural sounding and comfortable to “play”! :)

I’m surprised they don’t have a DVD for each update ;)

I’d say Pianoteq 3. This one’s based on physical modeling and I really haven’t heard any other software sound more realistic than this one, and it is not sample based, its all synthetized. Just amazing!
