Hello!

After years of working as a team, you collect a lot of information that everyone should easily access. And what better way to do that than a wiki?

Right now we have a lot of info about:
- best practices
- how to name files
- how to make a repo
- how to use an in-house product or another
- how to comment code
- what conventions to respect
- etc, etc, etc

So my question is, what services / products do you guys use for storing the documentation of your studio. Also files, scripts that can be re-used, client work, and so forth.

We use Basecamp for client communication and project management. But that is totally different from what we’d need, on top of that.

Themeforest has some awesome Wiki themes for wordpress which I’ve used before quite well :)

Andrei, I believe the best way to go with this is to custom code your own system. I would say using WordPress on a closed circuit network that only your staff can access and that way you can include posts about everything you want ( I organize my files that way on a blog hosted on my external hard drive, XAMPP , and it’s pretty much all I need to house code snippets, info, self written bug fix tutorials, etc, etc )

If you write code, I am sure you must be creating your own classes.

Share them here(In case if they are PHP related) http://www.phpclasses.org/

Most of people begin with their own framework. Why not try yours.

In between , I use ScreenSteps to create PDF documentation. (You can create Lessons and Reuse them)

If you are good enough for being an author then write for tutsplus.com.

Your blog will be your best wiki.

WordPress is a good option. You can

- create custom taxonomies

- restrict view and edit access

- upload files/photos/videos and enable your users to download

You can put the client work in Git/Mercurial repositories that WordPress access. Just find the most suitable theme and do the required customization.
