Hi guys,
I don’t want to sound like I’m bashing the reviewers but I’ve uploaded a file and requested that the reviewer should set the price at 2.00$. The file has been approved but the price has been set at 4.00$!
This could mean that potential buyers are scared off by the price and don’t purchase my item. I think we all benefit form the time the item is featured on the homepage but if the price is set too high, it will not sell. I think the reviewers (I know they’re busy) should look closer. Does anyone else have this problem?

In my own experience the reviewers read the message. But sure, they could have missed that you requested the price to be set at $2.
My suggestion are that you contact support and ask them to change the price
Already contacted them, this isn’t a one-time problem, it has happened before.

Yes, reviewers do read all information submitted by authors.
However, you do know that we have a strict pricing policy that we base all our prices on right? We are not influenced in any way by the price an author suggests. This maintains price fairness and integrity across all marketplaces. In the rare case that your file goes live and you think that it is priced incorrectly, you are welcome to submit a ticket to support@envato.com who will investigate to see if the file has been priced correctly. Hope this helps explain why your file was perhaps not priced as you requested.
Hey Scott, I’ve already sent a message to Support. I don’t understand your argument, I had asked the reviewer to set the price at a reasonable price but he doubled the price! To be clear, I didn’t ask for such a high price.

No problem, I can try and explain again if you like.
The point of my previous post was to inform you that authors don’t decide the price of an item, reviewers do. And reviewers price items based on strict pricing guidelines/policy irrespective of whether an author requests a low, reasonable or high price.
Looking at the file in your portfolio that I think you’re referring to, a high(er) price has been allocated to your file because of the large dimensions of your work. This is just one of the numerous criteria that can affect the price of a file. But that’s totally fine that you’ve contacted support, they will be glad to assist you and your inquiry.

Scott’s right that reviewers have to stick to our pricing policy. We try to be as flexible as possible, but we can’t approve any price that is unjust or unequal to it’s peer work in the GraphicRiver library. If you think your file deserves a different price, please contact Support and request a price change. They’ll have me investigate it and if it’s a reasonable request that won’t harm the value of our library of items as a whole, we’ll do our best to work with you.
Thanks Scott and Amanda!
Amanda, are you saying that even though I request a lower price, the reviewer could still up the price because of quality, resolution and/or subject? I just want to make sure because it happened again !

Yes, that´s what Amanda means.
Let say you upload a file including 5 different wallpapers with resolution of 3000×2000. This item will be priced somewhere around $5-$10 if the details are really high quality.
Say that you want them to have the low price of $2 instead of $5 the reviewer will set the price to $5 even if you want the price to be $2. This is because if the item you uploaded are that high quality and have the potential to sell at that price they have to make it $5.
But if you still would like the item to be $2 you contact support and they opt it to Amanda that will have a look at the file for you. If she then finds that the $2 you are requesting are harming other backgrounds pack in the same category she will keep the $5 price instead of lowering it to $2. But if she find the item to be harmless to other items in the catergory she might put the price down to $2 instead of $5.
I hope you understood what I mean. I´m a lousy explainer
Anyways, hope this cleared up some questions you have
Very clear, HBM ! Thank you!
P.S. You’re not a lousy explainer, I understand it very well.
