Hey everyone, I’m sure several of you have heard me suggest implementing an elements overview page into your designs/templates. Here’s why.

1. Potential buyers can see that you’ve taken the time to style all the commonly used HTML elements used in websites today.

2. Potential buyers can see exactly what they’re really getting.

3. It increases the quality and presentation of your design/template.

4. It creates good habits.

etc., etc. – you get the idea.

Anyway, I came across an HTML test page for CSS style guide here and thought it would be really helpful for some of the author’s here. The idea is you take this example HTML , put it in your template and style every element. Doing this right away might save you time as you continue building the template and in the end you’ll be providing higher quality templates. :-)

I’ve uploaded the HTML on my hosting here http://files.jremick.com/downloads/files/elements.html as well in case the first one disappears.

You can also get it on Pastie

Enjoy! :D

Thanks! I saw this suggestion on the TF blog the other day and had been thinking about how I could set up a page like this. This helps a lot. :)

Just wanted to clarify that I didn’t put this together myself. Someone over here did: http://snipplr.com/view/8121/html-test-page-for-css-style-guide ;-)

I wholeheartedly support this as a general rule for all templates… I’ve been including 99% of these styles in all of my products because it’s industry standard, but I know there’s some products that have neglected to do so for one reason or another.

+1 for this being a checkbox during the upload phase.

Jarel – thanks a million for setting this up and bringing attention to it.
