I recently discovered this handy tool when reading a different AJ forum thread. Anyone else use Envato Analytics to see how many views their files are getting? My sales grew steadily and peaked in January but so far February has produced 50% of what I got in Jan. This may be because through January I had a featured file on the homepage. What is surprising is that in February I added links to all my tracks to get buyers going through my portfolio, I started a Youtube channel, started a Facebook, started posting new releases to Twitter and I also started my own website. I expected sales to continue to rise or at least stay the same. Analytics show almost every track has had 50% less views in February than January. Pretty frustrating but thats the game is suppose!
Hope everyone gets good sales March!
I think it takes a while for YouTube & Co to take effect. Having a featured file really is a big help in the beginning as one can see with ‘Seeing is Believing’ or ‘Little Planet Corp’ at the moment. I checked out Phil Larsons Flagcounter for example today to see what increase his front page feature effectively means.
Building a long term relationship with customers however is something different and it takes time, endurance, focus on constantly delivering highest quality tracks, keeping up our inspiration instead of just hammering out the next coporate/motivational (which I admit is always tempting
) and most of all, being patient and keeping up the fun of creating fresh music every day.
You have great sounding tracks, a great logo and – like me – always a drumset you can go to and beat the hell out of it when you get too impatient because that damn sales counter doesnt climb up as fast as you want it, haha.
No, seriously, you don’t have anything to worry about.
(Dude, you’ve got a black paw after what?, two months or so ??
)
Wish you many more sales!

I had my best sales this month, and I think it’s solely due to the fact that I have been on the frontpage for a month. The free file was viewed over 4,000 times on the 1st day alone – and I guess people have filtered on to other pages from there. Some people even still purchased the free file, even though they could download it for free
Of course, we will really see how it affected things next month.
Also, as for sweetwaveaudio – you have nothing to worry about, apart from Tim McMorris – you are the fastest riser on the ‘Top Authors’ charts that Audiojungle has ever seen
. Probably what you’re selling now – you should treat as your ‘baseline’ for sales, and then when you have featured files/free files, or whateveer – that’s when your sales will peak.
Also basspartout makes a good point, in that it really takes time for things to build up here. With the exception of Decembers in 2010 and 2011, my sales/earnings have increased gradually every month. So if you’re doing well now, as long as you stay active here, you’re going to be very happy in a year’s time.
.....especially with the Leurre Lingerie trailer on your homepage, you won’t have to worry at all, haha

I think, that this is result of wrong search system, Sweetwaveaudio..the same thing i see with my sales, when search works wrong..i don’t understand, what’s going on, and i want to hear some official explanation, when this is will be resolved (if it’ll be)..
Thanks for the comments guys. Some very useful thoughts and information. Let the marathon continue!

I don’t know if there’s actually a problem in search system, but now taking a look at analytics i’ve noticed that yesterday i had 0 views for a many of my items… that’s quite strange because, for example, with my music pack for 27 february i had 17 views, 0 on the 28! And it’s also listed in the popular items in the music pack section…
I think January was a surge for you. Do you have a powerful shot that made the track 70% of all sales in January. And now after the big bang, a little slower than your sales. But most importantly your achievement that they are stable! And it is far from each author! Congratulations!
@Sweetwave audio,
Man I’d say you re doing great! Looks like we ve started around the same time. Late Oct/Nov. 400 sales I wish! lol! Whats your secret? Mostly, Ive just been uploading back catalog stuff, you re a guitar player like ,yourself, oddly enough my non exclusive portfolio is selling better..one where I decided to throw up my rock tracks as more of a focus. Did you just recently compose all those tracks, I average about a new one every few weeks. Maybe I’ll buckle down and start churning them out…even simple little arrangements. Congrats!
Phew …so it’s even the big guys who feel the recession
. Makes it a bit easier, like that stupid problem you’re having, thinking you’re the only one. And you go online and see a bunch of others complainig too.
Be quiet sweetwave
you changed three paws since november
I remember your celebration of the red paw , and then it felt like a few weeks had passed, I see you with a black one
.
Next month – silver.
