hi people , just a quick question/idea.

I know that there are two types of licenses that people can get for music on audio-jungle, a regular and extended, however i was just thinking maybe we could have another license where for e.g an author could put up a single track that he/she wants to sell exclusively to one person/buyer, obviously it would be of a much higher price, as it would be an exclusive item, or even an auction style listing where buyers can make a bid, i mean i’m sure there are many possibilities, ideas floating around.

I just thought of this idea as i know some buyers out there want exclusive music that they could use in their projects/films/ documentaries that nobody else is using, and sometimes they dont have the time to go about finding someone to do a piece of music for them, im guessing there may not be much demand for this, however having it as an option for buyers is better than not having it.

just an idea

any thoughts guys?

thanks

Abir :)

I can see how this could be tricky to pull off, but if it can be done, I think it would be a great offering.

This is an amazing idea, this should be characteristic not only to audio jungle but also for other marketplaces.

I was thinking about that some time ago, and presented an idea where it would operate like an ebay auction. Buy it now is up until the first regular license is bought. I’m sure that setup would make an exclusive sale very rare though. Squeezing an exclusive license into a stock marketplace would be a challenge. I’d like to see a working model of how this could be done effectively. The only other way I can think of is to offer items for exclusive sale only. Can’t wait to hear more ideas on this.

For instance I’ve created a collection named “Never sold before collection” (of course, with my new songs and old ones that I don’t sell yet), and I remove the songs from that collection as soon as I sell one of them, so the buyer could know that at least for a while that track is “exclusive” for his/her work.

If I was going to pay a lot more for the music, I would just get a custom job done anyway. There are plenty of composers who will do a minute of custom music for $100. (Not me, but I know plenty who will).

What sort of prices are we looking at here?

@Garethcoker:

I was thinking that as well. That’s part of why it would be hard to fit something like that in here. What does one charge? :D

GASP no kidding. Not me either. If that is the norm I definitely would not post what I charge.

I agree. Having a ‘rates’ table makes it all seem a bit corporate anyway. It’s always best to just hash it out with the client. I’ve found that the more people like me the more they want to pay me, so it pays to be personable!!!!!! The last thing anyone really wants to talk about is money.
