Just thought i would let everyone know i have just received an email which said it was from pay pal telling me my account had been limted and i needed to log in to verify details as there has been unusual activity. I followed the link to see what was up but wasn’t untill i logged in that i noticed it wasn’t a secure link and that it was asking for all my card details again address and everything inbetween i also noticed it wasn’t a secure link was only a http:// instead of a https:// so though i would let all you guys know if you get an email from paypal make sure you check it all first. Apparently a few types of this email are making there way round at the moment so don’t get caught out!

I also noticed that if you click the buttons on the fake site they don’t go anywhere all back to the login so thats a dead give away as well.

I got a mail few days back saying that paypal is conducting a survey on user satisfaction and asked me to login. It was also not a secure connection. I sent a complaint to paypal and they set it right. I recommed you too do the same… :)

I presume you’ve changed your Paypal password if you entered your log-in details on that phishing site. If not you should do so before they use it to drain your account.

This is called email phishing, it’s not just paypal, but banks and everything are mimmiked to see if they can get you to give them your details, anybody could be on the other end, it is almost certainly not paypal who sent you that e-mail. A good way to check is by hovering over the link and in the status bar, seeing what it really is, it’s probably something like .js or .es or some other country. What they do when they load is mask the URL in the address bar so you don’t even know what it is, but it is not where you are.
