Precisionsound has released Amore Grand Piano, a free Yamaha grand piano sample library for NI Kontakt. Amore Grand Piano is a Yamaha grand piano, close miked in stereo and kept small, under 200 MB. In order to keep it small and RAM friendly, the instrument is one layer only. There is a script that is simulating the response with dynamic EQ

The 3 page GUI is intuitive and easy to understand with controls for decay, EQ, IR reverb, Delay and Keyboard response.

Thank you Mihai, the Amore Grand Piano is very nice, but for people who dont own Kontakt and have only a 15 min time window for this nice piano to use due to the demo limitations, I have even better news: Sound Magic releases Piano One – Free Concert Grand VSTi

First impression: incredibly good for a free piano, best free piano I’ve heard so far and easy on CPU .

That’s a good one, downloaded it today and tried. It have a nice open clear sound while Amore Grand Piano is more “on the dark side” .
I didn’t posted it here because it’s not only sample based, as all Sound Magic pianos, is a hybrid approach, a modeling (as I understand) sample based. Here I post mostly samplers and sample libraries. I made another thread for synths.
Anyway, good find. I’m sure many authors will find this plugin very useful.

So, on Retrosampling.se there are several things for free. VST effects, VST instruments and sound banks. I find a useful bank the “OSCILLATOR PAK – SAMPLER SYNTH ELEMENTS v1.0” which you’ll find under gratis/ VST instruments.
