Global discussion, announcements and how all this will work!

Hi everyone,

As you will have seen the Envato forums now have a global discussion area where members can open threads up to the whole Envato community. We hope you enjoy this feature!!

The global discussion area is designed to be used for discussion that benefits the broader Envato community. We hope that this feature will bring the broader community together and that each site’s members can learn from one another and generally get to know each other.

We want to make sure the global thread is useful for everyone, so if the moderators find a thread in there which is more suited to a particular marketplace they will move it back there to ensure global threads stay relevant.

Additionally, there is now the announcements area for Envato staff to tell everyone what’s happening on the sites, make updates etc. (the section I’m making this announcement in). Only staff can start a thread in this section, but all members can comment on existing threads and make their voices heard.

We hope you enjoy these new features! We have a couple more coming up I think you’ll really enjoy too.

Another useful feature, nice work guys! Now we dont have to see all the (Sticky)s in the general discussion area So are you also going to let us know what you are currently looking at, or updating or anything? That would keep us updated at all times, and will make a lot of us very happy

I’m always scared to talk about features before they’re actually ready to go as occasionally an idea we’re working on might need to be shelved or even not come to fruition because of various issues.

But there is a great idea from Ryan that I think everyone will like showing nationalities of members if they choose. I’ll keep you posted on the details!

How strange. So like, you know like, if someone is American and has different ethnic background, could they select multiple nationalities? Wait, no that doesn’t sound right. Nevermind.
