I’ve put in multiple support tickets and all have been closed or ignored and so I will attempt to find an answer via the forum.

I had a photo included in the Graphic Designer Bundle and received the royalties for this shortly after the bundle sale ended.

Since I had the bundle product page (from graphicriver) bookmarked, I was able to access this page for a few days after the sale was supposed to be ‘officially’ over. And there were 10-20 more sales after the official sale end… probably because of links to the product page that bypassed the splash page that was created for the bundle.

When royalties were paid out, we were paid for all sales up to the official end of the bundle sale, and they excluded the 10-20 sales that occurred after the official end date.

This doesn’t seem like a good approach to take since our files were still sold and are being used by 10-20 more people than we are being paid for. I believe the final number of sales up until the product page was finally taken down was 6339, but we were only paid for 6,307 sales.

Can someone from PhotoDune with authority to speak on the matter contact me, since I can’t seem to get a response from the support ticket system?

Thanks, Stephen

Correction:

My exact sale numbers are incorrect. I believe the final sales were 6,395 last I had checked and I wasn’t paid for this number of sales

Hi Stemlund, sorry you haven’t heard back from support, we’re having some issues with our support system since we upgraded a couple weeks ago, and I think the team has been struggling to keep up with our usual volume of tickets. I think they are slowly getting on top of it all, but there is stuff still getting delayed – like your ticket it seems!

Anyhow in answer to your question, I looked up the final numbers, and they should be:

Total Sales = 6396
Total Sales $ = $127,920
Total Value of Bundle = $507
Your Photo (http://photodune.net/item/many-hot-air-balloons/474038) @ Large Size = $5
Total Revenue Payout for Your Photo = $5/507×50% x $127,920 = $630.77

I double checked your statement and it looks like that’s the correct amount that was credited. My guess is that you’ve used $500 as the total value of the bundle and ended up with a slightly different calculation?

Anyhow you are absolutely correct that we leave the bundle item up for a little while after the cut off. We’ve found that this cuts right back on the number of people who complain that they missed the deadline by a few minutes. It’s not something we advertise, but it runs up a few extra sales, but more importantly results in less dissatisfied customers :-)

Hope that helps, sorry if there was any confusion, and sorry that our support guys haven’t had a chance to get back to you yet!

Thanks for responding, Collis! This all makes sense now.

I was doing my math based on the idea that it was a bundle worth exactly $500 and that would have made it $639.60 (essentially just moving the decimal point on the number of sales). But because I didn’t realize the bundle was actually worth $507, I was incorrect.

Thanks again for coming in here and helping me out. I’ll shutup now. :-)

Not a problem at all! Frankly I much prefer that people double check these things and call us out if you think we made an error. It’s never our intention to make errors, especially in paying authors. So much better we hear about it so there’s a chance to correct it :-)
