I understand packing in a lot of features, but I feel like a lot of the templates I’m seeing at the $30 price are being over looked for their design, or that their design is being under valued. I’d rather have a well designed file than one with everything under the sun in it, but it seems like authors are being “dinged” for not putting in 12 color options and xyz sidebar widgets.
That’s not true Marc, we never set the price based on the number of features, shortcodes, color variations, etc. Is all about the theme functionality and flexibility. (Heavily coded custom page templates, advanced Custom Post Types + Taxonomies, advanced features, Code Quality, Plugins independency[not a true factor but it helps], Uniqueness of the design, excellent use of spacing, typography and web elements.) And much more. There’s a lot of things we see to determine the prices.
Remember: We’re a team of 3 people + our Review Manager. As humans we can make mistakes,
if an author ever feel that his/her theme has been underpriced they can always submit a ticket an we’ll review/discuss the request.
@ParkerandKent I disagree with you Parker, $30 themes has the same exposure rights in the marketplaces/social accounts. That’d be some sort of discrimination.
Cheers.
