Hello, Yesterday I signed up with Theme Forest, saw Chris Molitors Free Theme—Wave and downloaded it. Now I want to ask him about the Option Tree Plugin and of course I need to log into his forum. But the only way in is to show a License Certificate (which I guess comes about as a result of actually paying for a theme.) I don’t mind paying Chris $35 for his Theme. But after the fact, since I have already downloaded the theme, what is the correct procedure for paying the $35 and getting the License Certificate? Thanks again, Mike Kraft

You can “purchase” the theme even having downloaded it as a free file. Just go through the normal procedure for doing this and then you will get the code you need to sign up to the forum.
It is the same principal as when some buys a single user license. If they then want to use the theme again on a different site then they would need to buy the theme again.

You can purchase the theme by clicking the “Purchase” button in the upper right. Once you complete your purchase, you’ll get access to a license certificate via your Downloads page, which provides a Purchase Code 
Basically, downloading the theme as the free file of the month won’t affect the purchase process.

You get a free license, but not a purchase code. Authors are not expected to provide any support for free files. In order to get into the support forum, Mike will need a purchase code, which is why he wants to buy a copy as well
Or did I say something that caused confusion?
