Well, it’s not dead yet but it’s certainly not the old activeden anymore.

Well ActiveDen may not be dead, its just the holiday effect … But the ActiveDen Blog is certainly dead .

Thats because its not on the start page anymore. For me … i dont click everyday on the forumlink. At the old site i see new topics at the start page and make more posts than now.

But ok. It was christmas and new year and many peoples are in holidays.

I hope it’s the holidays. I think themeforsest is doing as well because there are some quality files over there, and they don’t have the junk the clogs up our site. I’m a firm believer that quality files still sell.

I am shocked at how many repeat files get approved on activeden. Not by the same author but you know the “if that sells well I could rip it off” syndrome. How many stage alignments, countdown clocks (oxylus just post another one that’s been done a hundred times), and same rip off of vectorflower’s banner rotator.

I’m not opposed to countdown clocks, banner rotators etc, but I hate to see a really great file get ripped off. I would love it if the reviewers were a bit harder on files designs.

I’m also tired of seeing tutorial files posted on the den. It’s crazy to see a tutorial on active.tutsplus.com and then a few days later see something identical show up on activeden (iPhone slide to unlock comes to mind).

I guess we need to step up as designers/ developers and get some quality files on the den.

I think it is not a ggod thing to publish some “tutorial based” files on the den. Not cool, and usually they have less quality than the tutorials.

Everyone should try to innovate more, and get the den back on the track again.
