While searching on google with one of my item title, found the following domain on top of result:

http://ali.codecanyon.net/ [plus item page url]

Since this is searchable and cached on google, just wondering if this page something active? Also that page doesn’t recognize current login.

^ My concern is why such page manages to get top ranking on google search (very close to original item link traffic). Also the item url with that subdomain combo doesn’t gets logged-in while http://ali.codecanyon.net/ or similar one maintains current login. If “ali” is really a subdomain that comes under official page, then it is understandable for such a traffic.

yer it’s probably having a negative impact on SEO

all this duplicate content.

they need to turn off wildcard subdomains, and redirect them like www.codecanyon.net redirects to codecanyon.net (same as other marketplaces)

haha… luckily the forum adds nofollow attributes to all those above links, hopefully that stops google scraping those urls and indexing yet another copy of the entire site under those subdomains haha. http://dtbaker-is-the-best-author-on.codecanyon.net :P

another option could be add a <link rel="canonical" href="http://{MARKETPLACE}/{URI}"/> to the header similar to item pages. but redirecting would probably be better?
