Hello I’ve noticed that after the improvements made 4-5 months ago, recently we’ve already step back to the previous situation.

Having files going away after 12h from the homepage, and even 6h. At least that’s what happened to me with the last items, and what I see happens for some.

I’d like to wait a little more in the queue, but to see my file stays in the homepage for a minimum of 24 hours, so every user from every country could really see it.

I’m not whining, just an observation ;)

I agree but I don’t think that is possible. They get so many files from across the world. They have to keep it pushing. Other wise, GraphicRiver will not be known for having fresh items every time. I would love to see my items up there for a whole week, but I understand the demand there is just to have a file in the marketplace period.

Well this is just my 2 cents :)

What if the boxes were made a bit smaller in order to fit more items on?

I guess its a tough balancing act for the reviewers. On the one hand people want fast review times, on the other people want a decent amount of exposure on the homepage.

Unfortunately, we can’t always have it all our own way. I don’t think the exposure time is too bad at the moment.

I don’t think making item boxes smaller would help. Your item would just get lost in the crowd. There is already plenty on the homepage including new items, featured items, free file, followers items, featured author etc.

I guess a minimum time could be implemented somehow, funnelling the items through so everyone gets an even share of homepage time. Maybe this would complicate things further though, or create some sort of backlog.

Hi Giallo,

I think @Kronen hit the nail on the head. Recently the queue (at least for me anyway) has been incredibly fast.

Whilst this is awesome and means your files is on sale quicker, it’s going to mean that others will come along and push it off the front page too.

It’s a catch 22 I guess.

What would you rather have – Your item in the queue for 4 days and on the front page for 12 hours, or in the queue for 2days (giving you an extra 2 days of sale time) and on the front page for 6hours?

My personal preference would be the quicker queue – after all, your file will still remain in the parent/sub category page for several days :)

The item would not get lost in the crowd if the thumbnail was made to stand out from the crowd…probably another incentive for authors to design better thumbnails? Also there is a rollover preview once your mouse is on the thumbnail already so that wouldn’t be a problem. But I guess we can’t have it our way all the time and I’m sure the staff have tried to come up with the best possible way of how to work this.

Yes it is. Most of the files accepted here are vectors which are uploaded mostly by non-exclusive authors. I have nothing against vectors or non-exlusive authors but if Graphicriver would give more space to exclusive authors it would reduce amount of files accepted here and definitely files would have more time on homepage.

Good point about more exclusivity to exclusive authors. I think they have more priority over non-exclusive.

I don’t have analytics on the site, but I’m pretty sure the homepage isn’t as relevant as we all may think. I’m sure more traffic is directed to the actual items page than the homepage.

Plus, the meta data on the homepage sucks and could never fully describe what graphic river has to offer as an e-commerce platform to potential prospects.
