Doesn’t it seem that as time goes on, personal sales seem to slowly decline? Do they eventually level out? Is it dilution due to the number of new files? The FD membership is up 20% in the last month or so, but my earnings have slowed down about 20% this month…

Any other sellers out there care to share experiences?

(BTW, this is not a complaint. I’m very thrilled about this additional revenue stream :-) )

Not for me, but I don’t count since I only started uploading seriously a while ago. I keep on adding more files so that it keeps on getting more and more every month.

Yessir, I can say for one that I have given this a few moments of thought on a number of occasions, and I agree with you.

It seems natural that as the file and population pools grow, individual file sales ratios may take a hit, if new files are being added faster than new buyers sign-up

So yeah i think authors who don’t keep up with the pace and add more files regularly may eventually feel the effects of the LODR .

Other factors are in play though, influences like like the popular files pages and general author visibility may definitely hold sway, .i.e an author who has more files uploaded but they’re individually less popular on the sales rank level, could see fewer sales per file compared to an author with less files which have been sold more. I think the same applies if the author is not as visible per se on the site.

Quality and quantity count but they’re nothing without exposure.

My earnings have doubled every month the last 3 months, though we’re still talking relative peanuts.. But I should be pushing through red by mid month (still ired every now and then by the audio prices but hey that’s another thread )

You’re right Sola. When i upload new files i can see that month’s income rise, but as long as i don’t upload new files sales are decreasing any month.

July: $500 —>uploading carouselDesigner (selling great) August: $1200 —>doing nothing September: $1000 —>doing nothing October (based on 5 days of sales): about $900

I can see less people buying older files. Probably most people who need them have already bought them earlier…

Slow on sales probably could be by other reason…

I’m a newbie here, my earnings and my number of sales are not 5 Stars Class, just a few sales every week, anyway on last weeks my sales are growing.

I think it’s better Flashden get thousands of authors and as millions of files and, as much files as possible… why?

As bigger the catalogue bigger will be the results. I have other files in other site with more visitors, users and files and my sales are ok. At the end the buyers want as more possible options to buy.

It's like big mall centers as bigger are and more articles they have more sales they make.

Anyway I think Flashden is this site has a great future, maybe are just a bad weeks.
