Why is it that every time one marketplace or tutsplus site posts something they all have to tweet the same thing?
Sometimes I get 3 tweets about the same thing, one retweet from an author, an RT and then a promotion for the author’s item. And that is okay.
But 5 duplicate tweets in an hour is just too much, you can just as easily used the Retweet function that Twitter so happily made for us. Just have the other marketplaces retweet it. That way we don’t get 5 of the same thing, and you are still having everyone see it.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with us promoting our sites on the different Twitter accounts, not everyone follows them and they each have a certain type of niche users and followers that may not have known otherwise

I totally understand where you’re coming from since the retween function Twitter implemented was meant to alleviate your exact frustration. I don’t use that method for retweeting though because, if I remember correctly, it wouldn’t allow me to edit the tweet first if I needed to.
You do make a good point though, and it’s something that’s been discussed by Envato staff before.

But if an item is tweeted by Codecanyon then retweeted by Themeforest then everyone that is following Themeforest and not Codecanyon will see it.

And yes, Retweeting like that is different, since something is being edited. But for something like this, there is no need for 5 of the same things.

If an item was tweeted by CodeCanyon, then any of their (CodeCanyon) followers would see it. If it was then retweeted by ThemeForest, then TF followers would then see it also. I don’t think any of this is a big deal or a problem as I mentioned earlier.
Also, I personally refuse to retweeet using the new button, I don’t like it.

Haha, neither do I. It’s bad joo-joo beans.

Sorry, I was leaving in a rush. Didn’t get to finish what I was saying.
The Retweet is fine, but if everyone is reposting it and not re tweeting it, it sort of becomes spam. That is why they made the Retweet function.
