May 2012 Recap

May was slightly better for me than March and April.

May was my 1 year anniversary. When I started out in May of last year, I uploaded two songs and stopped. Sales didn’t start happening until July. So I’ve only been selling for 10 months so far.

What was so great about May? Being included in the Envato Ultimate AE Bundle for sure. I made twice as much money from the bundle as I have from sales for my entire first year. Pretty great as far as money making goes for May. Pretty sad as far as sales go for the whole year. But I can’t complain. I reached my 100 sales mark this month. Some authors have earned less, so I am happy with that. But, I really want to continue making quality music and making sales, so I do plan on continuing to release quality tracks.

And I have plans to increase my presence in the ROCK category. I will never give up on the other genres though. I love all kinds of music and overall don’t enjoy splitting my creations into “labeled” genres. When you label something, you limit it. But in the business world, labeling is necessary so that the buyers has an idea what they are getting ready to listen to.

Anyway, enough of my rambling.

May was mediocre until the 21st of the month, and since then it has been superb.

Best month for me so far, as well as being the least active on my part, go figure.

Also sold my first extended license in May.

Definitely the best month for me so far… I haven’t achieved any special milestone, but I’ve broke my personal sales record… Moving forward!

Every Year, from October to March i earn more the next month than the previus month, but when April arrives i earn less than the previus month and in May i earn even less than april, every year is the same story, so I knew May was going to be terribad, as every year, but this time i decided to be prepared; i uploaded 9 designs in may and that helped me to make it my best month ever.

So my advice is, if you know a month will be bad for you, then create and upload more stuff (a lot more than any other month) that month and you will have a good month

This month was my best month ever! With the help of a great designer, i’ve changed my badge and had a WordPress theme in the weekly top 5
