I’v started this thread wondering what other authors include MCTween if they use it in a file cause as I’ve found not all people use it and have had to give guidance to people how to even instal it with there extensions manager.

Now im wondering should i include the MXP file and give a how to page with the file and how to install it if they dont have it when they purchase a file?

I thought this is a pretty standard plugin but is there a way to export the flash files and link to the MXP like you would import Fuse or Caurina AS files?

I ran into this problem when I used to use MCTween. I first started out putting the mxp alone located in a separate folder in with the rest of the files. But after receiving many emails and comments about how the mxp wouldn’t install I then started to exclude the mxp and instead include the “mc_tween_2_28_29.as” file with whatever files used it. They don’t need to upload that .as file, so its not much different from having the mxp installed. I don’t use MCTween anymore though, because I changed to Tweener. It is much more customizable. I don’t recall ever finding a attribute in MCTween that allowed you to call a function when the tween was complete, but Tweener has an attribute called “onComplete” that does just that. I find it very useful. It helps a lot.

I’m a big fan of Tweener too. Tweener & MCTween are created by the same guy.

I’ve just started using TweenLite in my latest project which is similar Tweener but has a smaller footprint. There is an AS2 version of TweenLite available too – http://blog.greensock.com/tweenliteas2/

By “smaller footprint”, I’m guessing you mean that it doesn’t require as much processor power?

Aw_Shucks, well I acutally meant smaller compile size. However if you look at the speed test apps on this page it looks like TweenLite totally kills Tweener.

Sounds interesting. Maybe I’ll switch when I get some money to purchase a license. Tween Max looks interesting too. Even more so.

Yes I should have been clear that TweenLite requires a license for use in for-profit commercial applications. The project I’m using it in at the moment is a personal folio site so I didn’t need to purchase a license.
