Mediatemple for wp theme previews

Hi guys,

im looking for someone with mediatemple experience, especially the grid-service (gs). Would the grid-service be fast / reliant enough to host a bunch of wp theme previews with good response times – especially during the frontpage days when the biggest trafficspikes occur – or should i skip the gs and go for a higher end plan / a totally different hosting provider.

Plus for anyone who uses the gs service for preview hosting, are the included 2000 gpu’s (or whatever they call it) enough or do you pay extra on a regular basis?

I had a good experience with the gs. I liked it a lot. If you are just starting out the GS might be fine if it’s only for the demos and you only have a few items. I think it would be fine for you.

In the worst case you will end up paying an additional charge for any excess GPU usage. So after the first month if you find that it’s not enough you can always upgrade to or purchase a DV account.

(gs) is great! I use it and i’ve never had any problems.

I’m on the 1 gig DV account for now.

Coupled with CloudFlare seems to work pretty well, probably could move up to the (dv), but the hassle isn’t worth it at this point.

May i ask how much above the 2000gpu’s per month you usually get (if any).
