I would write a intro on the first page that loads for users to know where they are/ what should they do. Now it’s just a logo with a welcome message.

that message could refer to a lot of things :) but for example, you can’t bookmark a certain page, music, whatever (from the browser), no deep linking practically.

The concept in general look ok (typical AD template) the XSAO JAMS MUSIC SITE

The only thing that always drives me nuts on flash template is the text size. You want people to be able to read the contact with out the need of running to the next room and bring binoculars,

I’m afraid I have to agree to some extent.

Lack of browser “back” and “forward” navigation (and bookmarking) on full Flash sites that don’t implement deep linking is probably the biggest issue that users will have.

I found having 5 different places where user can have their say a bit of overkill: chat rooms, avatar chat, message board, guestbook AND a “comments” pop-out.

Also, at one point the “comments” pop-out came out over a gallery page with the “Add comment” and “Close comments” tabs missing, so it was impossible to close it without refreshing the site.

Found a couple of spelling mistakes: “Ready Comments” and “Avartar Chat”

Also: opening the “comments” pop-out turns off the music and closes the music player leaving no indication of which track was playing (why? Probably because the “X” (close) cursor is still active even when it is used to open the comments pop-out).

Also : the “Info” tab on the music player does nothing (on the tracks I tried) If there is no info there should be no tab (or something to indicate there is no info so it doesn’t just look like the tab is broken)

Also: the “X” cursor (to close music, images, etc) disappears behind the “Read Comments” tab when it slides out (should be on top and should change to hand cursor).

Also all the pages that open in new tabs (chat rooms, avatar chat, message board, guestbook and support) have a very inconsistent look and feel.

(Well, you did ask for opinions .. hope that’s not too critical for you ;) )

I think you could do away with all the bells and whistles and just make it 100% about the music listening experience. Then provide links to your Facebook and Twitter if you want to interact with the visitor :)

I don’t think you even need to have a Twitter widget (That would qualify as a “bell/whistle”). Just link to your Twitter page somewhere.

Interacting with visitors is great but I think your focus should be more about building traffic by providing a kick-as service. That’s why I suggested you focus more on refining the music listening experience the site provides.
