Ok so being a student, i’m poor and have no money to spend on beer.
I need more web jobs, anyone got something they wanna throw my way?
Also, do any of you guys know a good way to get more clients? I don’t actually advertise at all, are there directories of freelancers that I can sign on to?
I think actionscript.org has a looking for work/worker section somewhere that I know is popular.
I’ve also got a few bits and peices of deviantArt before.
Another Idea would be to actually get in touch with smaller web companies that look like they may want a cheap flash developer that can help out with stuff. I know that the company I work for is always inundated with flash work (which either myself or the main flash guy work on so were actually ok :p) but before I was arround I know they used to ship stuff off to another guy to do, and I don’t think more than 2 people have ever even met him.

yeah when we started our design business lots of work was excess from bigger ad agencies, we used this to fund all the slow days from our regular clients. Over here we have a website called AustralianInFront which has a job board which was really good, there must be something similar over in the UK i imagine?
Our Firm, AMPerageDesign is going to get going on Guru.com soon…they are a very affordable freelancer site where you bid on projects, etc.

I picked up a small job from AustralianInFront a long time ago, it was a very fun Flash job and I got to cut my teeth on AS 2 .0 with it

yeah that site really helped us, but also we sent out a mailer when we first opened to every person cyan and I knew or had ever met and that brought quite a few cleints who we worked for really cheaply. We were so cheap and still good quality that they then referred us on to other people and this time we got a tiny bit more expensive and then they referred us on etc etc and eventually the business grew and we reached a decent price for services. Took about a year or so to do.
I don’t know if thats the best way to do it, its just the way we did it for good creative.
That looks cool Collis….
I’m just looking for smaller jobs really, I still need to study for my Uni course.
I just got a job doing a website for my cousin actually, should get me £100 or so…
Oh and btw, where do you get all your stock photos Collis, the ones you use are really nice.
I’m not colis, but what the hey
(i’m overusing that little guy… :p)
I use either of those places. Just search anything with “stock” afterwards when on deviantArt. There is loads of crap (on both sites actually, but its free and there are hidden gems.
Yeah I use StockXchange but Collis seems to get images that look nicer…
sxc has gone a bit downhill rescently aswel, all the best ones you have to pay for.
Never used dA for stock…theres too much stuff on it.
