Hey Guys,

Have you noticed the new header on item’s fullscreen preview?

While this is a good idea so people who only bookmarked the preview can get back to the purchase page, it cuts off the footer for fullscreen flash templates. I know there is a close button, but are all users going to understand that it is not part of the template itself?

Also, it ruins a bit the idea of a fluid template, since the footer is hardly visible/cut-off, and is not where it’s supposed to be. Also, when you resize the browser window, the footer goes even lower, making it invisible if it is small.

I like the idea, but I don’t like my footer to be cut-off, it’s supposed to be pixel perfect, not half visible…maybe make the close button MUCH bigger/more visible or make it go after a while?

What do you think?

[edit}... and the text “You are viewing a FlashDen Item Preview” is hardly visible.

Just notice this, no bigy I think. There is a close bottom for this but it will refresh your file. Also the purchase click is a nice add on, will take sometime to get use to it I can live with it, anything to promote FD I guess. (:.

I also agree about fluid template.

LG,
I just noticed the header, and was about to start a new thread, but I found yours, so luckily there’s no need for me to start a new one :D
I believe users might be distracted by this header at first, but they’ll soon realize the header is not a part of the fullscreen preview item, but rather a FD interface improvement :)

My 2c :D

wow.. another big/important update and we(authors) had no idea about it :D
My opinion is that it’s really bad, destroying most of the fullscreen templates. I understand the concept around it, but in the case of fullscreen templates, it’s really an unnecessary addition. The second bad thing about it, is that it really destroys the preview :D

Only my 2c, but i am sure that a lot of authors feel the same.

Yes, I also think it’s a good idea, but if the user got to that preview via the main item’s page, then there is no need for it right? This is purely for people who get to the preview directly via either search engines or if they only bookmarked the preview and get back to it later, so they have a way of getting back to the purchase page.

Shouldn’t we have that header only if the preview page is not opened from the main item’s page?

Yes. Or have the possibility to disable it. I have a new template in the queue, and when it will be up it will look like crap with that bar on top :D

it is a great idea indeed…but some files really need to show up fully, like my content scroller. The bottom horizontal scrollbar is not visible at all in firefox. I sent a mail to support a few minutes back. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

hmmm… breaks my footers as well. When will FD start testing these things out before they launch them ?

its a good idea but poorly implemented, maybe we can just have an opt out option for certain files?

argh… I don’t like this feature from a design point of view – just doesn’t look nice, I prefer how it was before – also it crops off the bottom of my templates. Anther update for buyers – when we going to have an update for authors, like the FAQ tab or comment filtering?? if you want to improve this site, streamlining support would be it !
