Is it alright to package woff fonts with website templates for tf?
I want to embed Myriad .. http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/legal/embeddingeula.html says it’s allowed .. is it?
Myriad Pro’s embedding license is listed as “editable” @ http://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm?store=OLS-US&event=displayFontPackage&code=1706
and is listed as:
“Fonts with an editable embedding permission can be embedded in electronic documents, and the embedded font can then be used by the recipient of the electronic document to view, print and further edit or modify the text and structure of the document in which it is embedded. These changes or edits can then be saved in the original document. Several fonts in the Adobe Type Showroom, including all Adobe Originals typefaces, other Adobe-owned typefaces and certain third-party font foundry typefaces, allow for editable embedding.”
myriad comes with adobe cs products, so i’m not sure how the licensing would work but my guess is it’s allowed reading from the above mentioned sources. so is it okay to distribute it with themes? does making it a woff font affect the license in any way?

Hi,
no you can’t include it within html or WP thems, the embedding is meant to happen within products created using the Adobe Creative Suite.

then what would you suggest for an HTML5 /CSS3 template that uses a custom font like that? i can’t really find a good substitute to myriad pro condensed and semi-bold condensed, any recommendations?
There is a free alternative called Vegur which can be used commercially.

Have you looked at Google Fonts yet?
Maybe something like ‘Open Sans Condensed’
http://www.google.com/webfonts/specimen/Open+Sans+CondensedOr ‘Lato’

thanks everyone .. it sucks we can’t use myriad pro
@dpthemes .. i tried using it, but the glyphs seem to be laid out in a very uneven manner.
@jamigibbs .. i tried google fonts before but had no luck, but open sans condensed looks like the best alternative to myriad pro condensed. thanks a lot for pointing it out!
