@aRtlessX, I’m not saying you miss it, but when you see someone with a red paw and you’ve only a brown one, seeing them progress and publicly displaying their happiness, it gives you (gave me) the mindset that ‘I can do that too’.
To me, simply seeing someone with a black/silver/gold paw wasn’t enough. I didn’t know how long they’d had it, how long it took to get, but when you get someone posting about it saying “Woo black paw in only 3 months” it just kinda reinforced it (for me) that it was easily achievable.
Quite frankly, I think a forum for ‘paw talk’ is a bad idea. Having a sticky would also take away the ‘joy’ of posting about your achievements imo (plus everyone has a different story, right?).
Whilst a ‘ticker’ on the front page may be a good idea in theory, it would be completely impractical. When the devs updated the front page & the showing of recent items, they mentioned how much stress it puts on the system already, keeping up with new items and stuff, imagine if there was something live-posting people’s achievements too.
On top of that, there are over 1.3 million marketplace members, with less than 13,000 of those being Authors. Any improvements to the UI/site functionality would most likely be tailored toward the ‘buyers’ experience on the site, not the authors, right?
btw, I’m not having a go at anyone’s ideas there, just giving my opinion
Luckily, there’s only a few paw threads started every week. It doesn’t bother me at all, but imagine everyone would be doing it. I vote for sticky, titled Achievements.
Oh, and congrats to everyone with a new paw

There is certainly nothing WRONG with paws and sales milestone threads. It is the only means authors can express their gratitudes and that SHOULD NOT be taken away.

Thanks Charles for your support! If there were a “tab” we would express our appreciation and excitement there, however, it’s not like it’s been happening way too much. There seems to be more interaction on “paw” threads than on some of the others.

Paws and sales milestone threads have positive impact and motivates a lot of other authors that are not very active to WAKE UP and light their torches and sharpen their pitchforks and get to work. Here in GR (and other Envato marketplaces) only the focus and dedicated authors prosper. There is no magic or short-cut in having huge sales.
I am glad whenever I read threads where authors are expressing how this community has changed their lives and how much they have made – because I am a living testimony of how my life changed ever since I decided to sell some of my items starting from Sept. 9, 2011.
Whether someone made 50 sales or 100 sales or 1000 or more, it is something to celebrate because the person worked hard to create those items and it wasn’t an easy job. As for me, ‘Paws and sales milestone threads’ should be encouraged and I believe Devs had that in mind and created the paws for sales segment.
Good luck and many more sales Sherman!
