Did you check permalinks? Also try to disable/enable suspicious plugins and check permissions via FTP client.

I have deactivated all plugins and permalinks are set to default, now I get the following error when trying the same save in SEO options:

Forbidden You don’t have permission to access /test/wp-admin/admin.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Is there any other permissions I should be aware of?

The permalink structure I was using was custom: / category / post

With this custom structure I was getting the styled Photolux 404 page but with permalinks set to default I am getting the standard browser/server 404

Thanks

By default ”/test/wp-admin/admin.php” need to be set to 644, can you login via ftp client and change ”/test/wp-admin/admin.php” to 777 then try SEO options, if you success then change “admin.php” again to 644. Also try to RE-INSTALL wordpress.

Thank you for your suggestions. I changed permissions on the file /test/wp-admin/admin.php to 777 and tried accessing the Photolux Settings and got a 404 response. This is what the browser link url is http://www.mywebsiteexample.com/test/wp-admin/admin.php?page=pexeto_options

I have since changed back permission to 644 or which is correct as no core Wordpress files should need permission changes in order to run a theme.

I have re-installed Wordpress but the problem still remains. So in general the Pexeto Panel does not save anything just throws a 404 response. While this is not breaking the front-end of the theme it does limit the ability of the theme.

Try to contact author, maybe you have problem with your hosting company and they can solve the problem.

deisephotography,

I am having the same problem. I have reinstalled the theme, deactivated plugins, talk to the author, talk to my host, and still haven’t fix the problem. Did you ever find I fix? I need some help.

Thanks

JR
