Portfolio Assets

Can it be made clearer in future what assets can and can not be used because on the assets page no where that i could see, did it say these assets should not be included in your download file. Iv just had a file rejected for this very stupid reason. Once again unclear guidelines form envato. Why release them for us to use. Yet another 7 day wait through no fault of my own!

Well, this is weird, just because everybody can download the assets and abuse of them withouth buying any file… don’t tell me that the author’s quiz takes more than 5 seconds to be successfully completed

I though exactly the same, as my last file as been rejected for the same reason as the smokeJoe.
I suppose it’s more legal than technical reason, about copyrights in the source files that one user has bought. Really don’t know, but anyway is so boring being rejected after 8 days for such a small reason. Also the images i put in the source were 70×40 px. !!

Just for note, if anyone didn’t know this, also the screenshots of any of the Marketplace are not allowed to be in the source. Just in the preview. More about this in this old Lance’s post:

Well i think the best thing to stop any abuse is to remove the portfolio assets. I can see how they can be helpful to show examples in files but if its such an issue for use it should just be the image assets. Its a case of one rule for one and another rule for another, and gets very frustrating.

Like parker and kent said the author quiz isn’t rocket science if someone wants the images and use them they will!

Simple solution to protect everyone is remove them! authors wont get caught out not knowing individual rules when downloading and using assets,”cause its not on the assets page, how hard is it to update this?” and then a total of 2 weeks to have a file reviewed because of it, and envato wont have to worry about people using there images of there portfolio!

Well personally i wont use them in a file again just because its trivial and has ruined my saturday!

Relax Joe. It’s really not so important being 2 weeks for upload a file. As i said in another thread before, live is a matter of expectation. So somehow you can even enjoy the queue

This is not a race of live. Just a marketplace, with its own rules. Expend the week (and the saturday!) developing another file!!

But yeah, I think that “portfolio” asset folder could do with a nice big fat bold warning right above it to avoid such frustration in the future.

Already on it and lost time sorting this out again!

A nice warning on the assets page would be nice thats all!
