I can count the number of times I’ve attempted to edit a post only to have missed the time limit for submitting it by a few seconds. ( Yeah, I know I write books on the forums :) )

Could the system not be changed to apply the time limit to the start of editing, rather than the submission time.

It shouldn’t be too difficult to apply the time cut-off logic when the “Edit” button on the post is clicked, instead of when the “Submit” button in the editor is clicked.

And while we’re at it how about a more user-friendly let-down if you miss the time limit, instead of just redirecting the user to a totally unrelated page with no explanation of why they were dumped there.

It could just reset the timer after each Update when editing. Shouldnt be that hard, right?

That’s some pretty good ideas guys! We’ve just deployed the change, hitting the edit button now extends the edit time limit. Same goes for submitting the edit, so if you make a change and then realise you made a typo, you’ll be able to fix it. Enjoy :D

Wow .. that is fast service. Thanks!

Now I have another peeve I have just discovered after spending half a day trying to find a particular type of image gallery painstakingly opening every AS3 gallery – often having to get to the full screen preview to see if it looks like what need :

How about if a file uses a full screen preview the author must upload a (scaled down) representative screenshot, which is displayed in a dynamic “pop-up” on mouse-over of the thumbnail – just like the large image previews in Graphic River.

Of course this is another subject so I’ll start another thread about it.. just needed to quickly get it off my chest because now I have had cause to use it I realize just how badly Flashden file search sucks.
