Maybe a clear difference in culture here but the issue is still very much a valid one.

What bothers me the most is the aggressive defensive stance taken. I mean it is obvious and clearly documented that these elements were copied.

There is only one thing to do now, repent and apologize.

He not try to claiming copyright over nivo slider coding mate, he talk about your css and background images of the slider navigation. interesting! :tired:

My slider navigation has its own background.. His slider navigation does not have background??? Have you looked at the address I posted?

And please copy paste that code in to the css compressor here: http://www.cssdrive.com/index.php/main/csscompressor

Use default values and paste the results here :)

Do you guys have some kind of history with this issue? The conversation seemed to jump pretty quickly. Also, I know that you can view the html and likely the css but how can you tell that someone is using someone else’s code in a wp theme? There are so many themes here that are so similar, I assume that there is a lot of common code being used.

No history, never had absolutely any problem with anyone in ThemeForest, everyone is a great family to me :)

The code I’m talking about isn’t PHP server code (Wordpress), it’s CSS client code but that’s not a big issue for me, what really bugged me were the navigation buttons images he took from my template, if it were the CSS code alone I wouldn’t even have bothered with this.

Please do it because what you are saying is funny. And i will change the preview images to ones that I cropped to make you happy. Actually I can crop the same images on different places to make you angry I guess :)

Funny…

I was trying to sound friendly as we are both established authors and your original post was very offensive to say the least.

Please everyone read my original post and tell me where I was offensive: original post

EDIT : no need, themeforest just ignored the reported comment and it’s again visible.

@turkhitbox Why wouldn’t you just admit that when you were putting in your slider, you were feeling lazy and just stole unisphere’s configuration of nivo (i.e. buttons, images, CSS , filenames, etc.)? I think you’re kind of tarnishing your own rep here by making a joke out of all this… (no matter how many smileys you put next to the things you say)

Hey guys :)

I’d like to just mention a few things and try to steer this thread in the proper direction:

-Please remain respectful of one another and avoid any personal comments that may be taken as offensive.

-Please report any possible or alleged copyright infringements of an item to support. I realize the item in question is not up yet so that isn’t of much help, but just a reminder if it’s an accepted item please submit it to support.

-Please use a more private medium to discuss things with another user regarding copyright infringement. It would be great if you guys could get in contact privately, that way we avoid any possible public personal accusations. I’d ask you kindly to do so please :)

We’ll keep this open, I just ask that everyone please take a breather and take note of the above. :)

I believe a small apology always helps.

If I find that somebody has taken some of my code / images for his upcoming theme and says “Oh well, I really use them for my WIP , I’m sorry”, I would even let him use them after all. Wouldn’t you?

He can always act as a wiseacre and explain me whole day what is how and why, but if he just admits and apologizes, I’d be OK. Maybe it’s just me though.

Hi Drew, thanks for taking your time to reply to this thread. I think this went the wrong way due to some “relaxed” answers when we are in fact talking about something serious. I’m a full time author at ThemeForest and I treat my presence here as a serious business.

You are right, I should have asked privately and for that I am sorry. I won’t let this concern me anymore, as it’s a WIP and not yet submitted, I’ll just keep an eye out for when it is.

I believe a small apology always helps.

Exactly!
