Hi,

I’ve been a member for about 2 weeks now but keep getting stuck in same rut.

The sort of stuff I want to turn out is going to take me a good 4-5 hours, now if I do that and get no sales it causes a problem because that time could have been spent on clients or my own projects, but I understand it’s a risk I have to take, which is fine.

But the sort of stuff which takes less is like navigation, buttons, sliders, facebook timelines etc but this stuff has been done to death.

I think the Graphic River team should post a thread on what they need (or lack) and I will design for those needs.

I know there is a section somewhere where it mentions stuff needed and not needed but I cant find it.

Well, it isnt really actual. And this statement “If you look throughourlibrary and can’tfind anything like what you’ve created, we want it!” isnt true. I ve submited a nice character kit and it got rejected. Please be fair to our New members!

I have the same dilemma as to how to measure my time on GR projects and trying to judge their market value. It’s tough. But I think if you are freelancer and new to Graphic River like me also, you really can’t put too much extended time into your GR projects…at first.

Concentrate first on getting and finishing your paying jobs. Make them flawless. Work on your GR projects for an hour at the end of the day, and go outside, get some sun on your face and breathe.

I know if you are like me, all you want to do is get your GR portfolio stocked with great files and getting your work out there.. But just be patient and it will happen.

As for the content and which kinds of files to work on… Be honest with yourself. I am certain you have looked around here enough to know what is more likely to be accepted and what is, and what is not needed. You probably don’t even need a list to tell you. The bottom line is: If you think it has been done to death, then you are probably correct and it would be wise to take a different path.

(WOW. I sure can blabber on awhile. Sorry for my wordy response!)

Envato Most Wanted Contests are a great way to know what kind of items the marketplace need and a great way to get some “easy” money.

Right now you can join the Packaging Contest http://graphicriver.net/forums/thread/envatos-most-wanted-2000-reward-for-the-first-40-packaging-submissions/66564

good luck :)
