hmmm…

it seems nice and kudos to the author for the work put in and releasing it to the community but I think it needs optimising… i’ve got glitches every couple of seconds where it seems the garbage collection is kicking in and taking over as its otherwise not given a chance… if this is sorted then it looks like its got quite alot going for it…

I’ve always used Flint Particles on projects and haven’t had the above issues though…

Yeah I see this happening for the arrow demo. Otherwise cool engine though.

It skips because it changes the bitmap in the background every second for the arrow flowing thing. Click on “Show Bitmap” and you’ll see why.

Hi, I’m Allen, the creator of Stardust :)

There’s an explanation for the slight pause in the arrow demo. It’s due to the 640X400 Perlin noise bitmap generation, instead of the GC. The same thing goes on for the turbulent blast demo, since it also generates a new Perlin noise bitmap about every second.

I have worked some with this particle system and let me tell you, its really great. Also, I want to give props to Allen Chou, because he has spent a lot of time on this engine as well as other engines like emitter and zedbox.
