Quite recently I went on an update spree, regarding my thumbnails.

To my great suprise, thumbnail-only updates were accepted automatically. Something odd did happen then, though. Even though my thumbnails have updated in my portfolio, they havn’t on other locations where I have posted them. Their location has changed!

Is this part of the redesign? Did you guys simply change the upload location for thumbnails, but didn’t move the older ones?

The new link to the thumbnail of one of my files is, for example:
http://activeden.net/files/buckets/312/262312.jpg
http://s3.envato.com/files/169231.jpg

Not that it matters, it just appeared to me :P

Are they at the new location to stay, so would it be wise for me to update all the links?

Yup that’s normal… and it’s always done that. If you post your thumbnails across your pages and then update the thumbnail… you have to re-do your thumbnail posts..

That happened to me a few times too, especially on thumbnail update spree :D

From what I understand, the buckets folder is a temporary location for the thumb, and you cannot display it using img tag while it is in there, but it will be moved to its final location at some point, so keep checking the thumb location and once it is out of the buckets folder you can display it with html…not sure why all this though :P

oh yeah that’s what Joost meant :P yeah, new thumb == new location :-) Although don’t bother to update your links while the thumbs are in the buckets folder as it won’t work.
