@claycollinsmusic: I am still thinking I might get Alicias Keys. That piano sounds killer.

Somehow on Friday, Fed-Ex screwed up my shipping and it went back to the sender. Sigh. Maybe late this week now….

I recently fell in love with iElectribe from Korg on the iPad. I can sit and put together beats on the train ride home. You’ll see some of that work soon enough!

The Novation SL 61 mkII I ordered showed up, and let me tell you. After the quick little thing it told me to do I was online. The faders work perfectly, and the transport does too. The buttons under the faders are mapped to solo/mute and the knobs are mapped to each channels pan. If you’re on the fence comparing an M-Audio Axiom series and the Novation SL series controllers hold out for the novation. I ended up getting rid of my M-Audio Axiom 61 and now I’m happy. Just letting you all know you can skip the M-Audio step and go straight to the Novation SL. I had an Akai MPK 49 also and there is no direct mapping unless you do it by hand, and then if you toss out a track it screws everything up and you’re off mapping stuff again. It also has a power switch so you can turn it off when you’re not using it. The Akai doesn’t, the M-Audio does. I can’t speak to the merits of the pro Axiom’s though. They do have software that’s supposed to be equivalent to AutoMap but I haven’t seen it in action. I’m working with Logic 9 though, and you’re milage may vary depending on your DAW . There are presets for Cubase and Ableton on the M-Audio so it might work better it those. The rotary pots on the M-Audio Axiom were chincy and they stopped working after a short period of time. Hope that helps someone avaoid wasting a few hundred bux trying these things out.

Flying V? Hmpf. Not my thing.. In my opion the guitar is a bit too top-heavy and not very pleasant to play when you stand or sit. :c

My newest toy is still on the way but should arrive shortly. It’s a Korg Nanopad! Bye bye midi-programming by mouse! :U

After that, I’m going to purchase a sweet half-acoustic seagull. :3~

Nice guitar. I love flat black. I’ve been drooling over the Les Paul but I already have one. I have a sickness when it comes to acquiring gear. I can’t stop. Must fight the urge….ugh. :D

Don`t mind Rob! You`re not the only one who suffers that sickness ;-) I have the same problem but sometimes, when I take a close look around (the place where I live in), I think to myself: That should be enough stuff to work with… :-) The huge Hammond monster under my bed in my flat should be satisfying for whole life anway…

I did it again the other day. Picked up an MXL condenser mic set. There’s a large and small diaphragm condenser in a nice little padded box with mounts for $99 US. Now the acoustic guitar tracks will sound much better. Every time I keep saying “that should do it” I think of something else to buy. I have 3 amps, 4 electric guitars, 1 bass, 2 acoustic guitars and a keyboard….4 effects pedals, an iMac, M-Audio firewire 410 and a 4 mics. When the guy at the music store sees me walking in he’s squeals like a little girl. A month back they took me to the Paul Reed Smith factory for a tour and fed me lunch. When I kick the bucket my daughters are going to have one hell of a yard sale. :D
