I am interested in knowing how many authors are currently living in Thailand. I’m moving there in a week and would love to hear any advice or general comments about working with Envato from there. :)

Cheers,

OhmLab

I was there for 6 months, but now I’m back in Dubai.

So, what do you want to know, the good or the bad things? ;-)

Yeah, I am Thai :)
I think working with envato is very good. You can work from any places in the world.
But one thing to know, everything is really cheap here :p …. Except CARS !

Offtopic: Same here in Venezuela, cars are very pricey. I bought a Chevrolet Aveo 2011 Hatchback 2 months ago — $29.5K

Lemme have it! :)

I’d like to hear the ups and downs. We will be moving around a bit so you never know what may end up being relevant to us in the long run.

What was the best connectivity option you found? Did you opt for a local phone plan/cell based internet?

Favorite place you visited? Places to avoid?

Hi Chris!

Wow, you’re going to move to Thailand! Very interesting, I have been there for more than three months, travelled from Satun ( a small town located in the southest point of Thailand / border to malaysia) up to the north. And that’s definitely THE PLACE that I can highly recommend to you! I felt very comfortable there, (I know it is so subjective), but just the important aspect that in comparison to the south of thailand there are not that many tourists! I really enjoyed the landscape up in the north, the second biggest city called “Chiang Mai” in Thailand is a very beloved place and is a MUST SEE in my opinion! I just had bought a motor bike in Khao Lak (west coast of thailand) and from there on I travelled through this beautiful country. Bangkok is, as you can surely imagine, very very big, loud and dirty, but of course a place that you have to visit, you can’t really avoid to go there of course, because you will arrive there with the airplane (I arrived in Thailand with a ferry, because I stayed in Malaysia before I went to Thailand…) Well, a detailed travel report would definitely be too much for the forum here, but if you like to hear a little more just feel free to PM me, I do my very best to supply you some useful informations ;-)

P.S.: Places to avoid (from my point of view): Patong beach and the area around (Phuket), Pattaya and Krabi…

BTW , just read you gonna sell your drumset, what a pity that the distance to germany is such big :-( I would like to have a drumset again…

Thanks, Ulf!! I’ll shoot you an email. Yeah, I’m selling one of my sets. I am storing the rest of my gear while I’m away. Are you still in Thailand right now? It would be great to see you!

No, Chris, unfortunately I’m not in Thailand right now! It would be more than awesome if we could meet there :-) But I have to stay here in germany for a while before I can plan stuff like that :-(
