I’ve placed it in my sidebar but I’m getting a single column of thumbnails instead of a grid. Any tips? A 3×3 grid would be sweet?!

Do you have some CSS that is overwriting the defaults that come with the plugin?

It should automatically float all the items left and show as a grid and not in a single column. The most likely culprit is your existing CSS . Get firebug and check to see if there is a clear or float none being applied to the items in your sidebar.

the thumbnails are 80px by 80px by default…

If you look at the source you could alter it so they are enlarged by they may not look as clear…
