I’m also looking for an easy way to make the books load a swf or jump to a frame? New to AS3 , can anyone help me out?

how do you make the text descriptions appear at the bottom of the file?

A few questions: 1. When you click on each book, does an event fire? How do you know which book was clicked? 2. What is needed to set it up to work? For example, you need two photos per book (edge and cover), set up the xml file, etc.??? 3. When you say you need 3 lines of code, is this true for Flex? How easy is it to use in Flex? 4. Are there any limitations? Bugs still being worked on? 5. What other classes are you dependent on? I use many other as3 classes (Papervision, etc.). Will this conflict with them? Does your code come with any of these other classes included in a swc? 6. Do I get the as3 code so I can modify it?

How much loading time is added per book? The URLs shown as examples seem to take an awful lot of time. Would you suggest using this for only a handful of books, or would it load in acceptable time for 40 books?

Can anyone help I also will like to change the target to _self and this line of coding didnt help

I purchased the file, and it’s awesome . However, I’m trying to get the right most cover to flip open as default, before any mouseover and on mouseout from the hit areas. Any ideas on how to achieve that?

I’ve put my mouseover book info texts into swfs, as I need right aligning multiline text for them and dynamic text field doesn’t get that (?) (with wordwrap + multiline + align right it wants to align left). But I’m ok with the text swfs though it’s an ugly solution as the file is otherwise so nicely scripted.

But anyways, I can get the first text info swf to show as default like I want it to but if I call open_front(); on the first cover image before any mouseover, the spine doesn’t render properly and there’s no flip. On mouseover everything works like a charm.

Output says: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at lt.uza::Book/redraw() at lt.uza::Book/onEnterFrame()

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m using this at a client site www.rolandsmith.com using three separate SWF and XML files. It works OK on: FireFox, Google, Safari, Opera.

However on IE it shows the first bookshelf in all three instances instead of three different instances.

I can view the individual SWF files OK on IE:

I don’t understand how to insert this file into an existing flash document. When I open the source .fla it is empty, there is nothing for me to copy and paste. I understand how to use the XML to change the book images, but I really can’t figure out how in the world you can actually copy this into another flash file?

How do I get file to play in an html, im not haveing any luck, please help.
