hey there! okay, this might like a total noob question. I’m trying to load my swf file externally since my movie is originally a AS2 document. i was wondering how you can separate the circle point that looks like a double cross and prevent it from moving when I try and move the preloader graphic. when i try and position the preloader into the center of a separate fla file, the content on my movie is off center because the the double cross point moves along with the preloader.

Thanks!

I placed the preloader on the first frame of my flash file and followed instructions to the T. However, once the preloader loads everything, it loops my movie, and continually plays a button animation (located at the end of the movie) which normally only plays when someone hovers over or clicks on it.

I put a stop(); at the end of all the frames to prevent the looping, but for some reason the Actionscript for the preloader keeps making everything loop and plays the button. Without the preloader Actionscript everything works flawlessly.

Code for my button to animate on rollover: ”>http://pastie.org/381830.js’> I blotted out the URL request website for company privacy reasons. I have a stop(); on the last frame of the button’s Actionscript layer which prevents looping.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Actually here is the URL to the pastie. Sorry, the script code embed didn’t work. http://pastie.org/381830.

Thanks again!

This pre-loader caches in Firefox for Windows. The sample above isn’t the same as the actual file so if you are using that for browser testing before you buy this…don’t.

When using this preloader in Flash, it loads and works beautifully in IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Camino but for some reason it does not work in Windows Firefox.

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to remedy it?

The script looks good. Can you tell me how to load more than 1 external file? Thanks.

You should be able to just repurpose the code used to load the original file for the second file.
