Advanced Carousel Media Gallery

Yes, I’ve been very careful to check SWF file names, paths, etc. I also tried exporting to lower versions of Flash, not using compression, putting embedded MCs on the main timeline and so forth. As a workaround, I’m converting all my SWFs to FLV . Those work OK.

OK, here’s another question: I made some minor modifications in Flash CS5 (put text labels below the zoom, etc. buttons and changed the Category button on bottom to say Main Menu).

When I render, the Output panel throws the following warning: “Warning: 3D DisplayObject will not render. Its dimensions (3280, 7386) are too large to be drawn.”

Any idea what this refers to? So far, I haven’t seen any problem with the finished swf.

Hi, Is it possible to have a search box in it ? So when you type the name of the item in the search box the carousel rotates to that item ….

A couple of more questions:

I used deep linking (swfaddress) to create a DHTML menu that links to the various categories. It works great on the page that contains the gallery. But how can I use deep linking from another page? For example, if I’m on about.php and want a link that goes to the Logos category on portfolio.php. I tried a click event like this:

location.href='portfolio.php';SWFAddress.setValue('/logos/'); 

...but it doesn’t work.

Also—I modified the location, padding, wording and color of the bottom menu, so it’s now on the top of the gallery and colored green. But how can I change the font? Local formatting doesn’t have any effect. In TransformText.as, I tried a few things like

content.getTextFormat().font = "Arial Black";

and didn’t have any luck with that, either.

I figured out the answer to my first question, above. In case anyone else reading this wants to know:

To link from another page in the site, make sure the other page has links to swfobject and swfaddress. Then instead of using the setValue method as your link, use the href method, like this:

SWFAddress.href('/portfolio.php#/logos/');

I haven’t figured out an answer to my formatting question, though.

Is it possible to insert Display Objects into the carousel?

Dude, I bought this item and it said the source file is included but the FLA has nothing in it! There is nothing in Flash source file just grouped images there is no Flash source file! I needed to edit some elements and got stuck really bad and a very serious project suffered owing to this!

is there a limit to the length in time of video files played in this carousel. i need to know before i purchase it? cheers and yeah it looks the business even now ive just found it…

I’m working on embedding it in another swf, but I need it to go straight to a gallery without any transitions. (Deep link won’t work when embedded)

Could you give me a clue as to which .as I need to edit?

Never mind, I got it to work by adding:

dispatchEvent(new CategoryMenuEvent(CategoryMenuEvent.ITEM_RELEASE, 0));

on line 104 in CategoryMenu.as (the transitionIn function)

0 represents the first category in AMCarousel.xml

If you don’t want to see the first menu, change alpha:1 or alpha:0 in line 96 and 98 in CategoryMenu
