AS2 XML Advanced Image Gallery

I bought this gallery a few weeks ago, very good, work great, now I can not make the swf files to work in the gallery. I have many images that work but when I tried to add swfs to my animation section i wouldn’t work. In the xml file I add the swf as another image except for the name and the file extension. is that the way it is supposed to work? My swf is a 3.0 as file. including a video outside the swf.. too much to handle? please let me know what would be the best solution. Thanks

I found regular swf would work, but if I add a video into the swf doesn’t. Can you help me to fix this?

Hi Alex I was wondering if you could help me. How can I set it up so that the description at the bottom of the large image shows up automatically so that people dont have to rollover the large image to see the description. thanks

Hello Alex. I want to say I really do like your image gallery. It has saved me a long of time in not having to develop my own for a particular project I am working on.

I have a problem: All my categories I have listed as 2 columns and 4 rows. In one of my categories I have 25 images. On the last page it shows 9 thumbnail images, thus causing the 9th image to drop below the bottom bar. Can you please tell me how to fix this problem? Thank you.

Also, I am hoping you could help me with something else. Currently the thumbnail size in flash is set to 150×93px. I need to use 182×79px. I have adjusted the size of the elements inside ‘thumb’, but then I get an overlap of the two thumbnails. Thus, I need the padding to be adjusted between the two thumbs left to right and top to bottom on the stage as well as the placement of such thumbnails, and for the bottom bar to resize to be the width of the two thumbnails horizontally. Currently the bottom bar is set to the number of thumbnails horizontally x 150px + padding. How do I get this x182px + padding?

I was able to get the transparency working. Stupid me, I was looking at the updates on the file through Dreamweaver. The transparency is there. I still need assistance with the first post above.

Also one other thing though if you do not mind. Is it possible to have the tooltip focused on the very center of the thumbnail instead of following the mouse cursor? The reason is that The stage width is only 430px. If you go too far to the right or left, you see the cutoff of the tooltip. If it was just permanently positioned in the center of the thumbnail, it would remove this problem.

5.How to change number of thumbnails per line ? 1. Open the flash source file 2. Click 2nd frame of action layer 3. Set cols

can’t find the “click 2nd frame of action layer” to set cols

I have been able to set the area to 690×500 and set the background colour but have no idea where cols are did a search and it said cols not found so would appreciate your help as I need to make the thumbs fit inside the new size thanks sue

ps love the gallery have gone through hundreds trying to find one that looks and works nice while allowing me to adjust size and put all the thumbs in might make eventually for a long page but that is not a problem

I just found my own answer and will put it in here so that anyone else as thick as me can find it lol

open the name.xml file and right up the top you will find…..

this is on the second line of the xml gallery not in the flash file which is where I was looking lol change this to what ever you want and you will have one great gallery

Alex, as I said before, I really like this gallery. However, I am highly disappointed with your lack of support. I have asked several questions, and you never replied to even my post, much less my inquiries.

Thank you for a nice file, but I cannot give you all stars on this one. One people have forgotten is that support/customer service is equally as important as the product itself.

Thank you for your reply Alex. I have since done the work. The only thing I needed to do was adjust the thumbnail size, and so I altered the FLA a bit. I needed to get it done fast as I had a project deadline.

How can I jump right to the big images when press a category?

And could you help me out, with a re-coding of the categories to embed a mouse position function to scroll the gallery categories ( I have 40+) I will pay you for this additional work. And could send you an email for you to see my design ideas.
